Day 5

For breakfast today I ate a 3 egg white only omelette with Swiss cheese, spinach and mushrooms - bloody lovely and by far the healthiest meal I’d had in a while, if you exclude the hash brown 👀

Joss and Kieren had cheese omelette with bacon and sausages respectively whilst Hattie had the pancakes

By all accounts all was good

Today we went to the Met museum which meant a long walk to, and through, Central Park

Until, after way more than an hour, we finally made it

At the museum I found many artifacts of interest:

This one made me think, if they’d worn more clothes, maybe they wouldn’t have been so cold

Whilst this one was obviously the oldest headphones known to man

I liked this, but how do you put it down half way through drinking?

And I can’t help but feel Kirsten from The Repair Shop would have done a better job with this:

I think the “so-called” experts got lazy with this one and just stuck a random head on a body

And I think we can all agree that is is the worst attempt at YMCA ever

I think the armourer here needs a good talking to as I can definitely see what I’d be aiming for if I was fighting him

Finally, I found the sculptor with the most limited range of skills ever, only heads and feet

Anyway, after all that walking we’d broken Hattie so we caught a cab back to the Irish Bar where I had the mildest “curry”, Joss had pasta and a salmon and the kids had burgers

Tonight was basketball night but there was still a time to visit a bar and sit next to an ATM, for some reason

Then it was off to Madison Square Garden to watch New York Knicks v Orlando Magic

Joss had bought a foam finger and wasn’t afraid to use it

Whilst I talked to a chap from New Jersey who had just turned 21 and was looking forward to his first legal drink - he talked me through what was going on

Knicks won on the night and were well worthy - it was a great experience

Although, and I appreciate the picture in no way lives up to the performance, Joss’ crowning glory was joining in with the rendition of Proud Mary during a timeout

All this excitement had taken its toll and when we suggested to Kieren that we head back home, he jumped at the opportunity although in fairness he did look like he’d enjoyed it all, with a Diet Coke in hand

A great experience to round off a lovely day
